Takes its name in homage to the Cuban engineer Francisco Javier Cisneros, precursor of the Antioquia Railroad. It is located between the EPM Library, the Vásquez and Carré Buildings and the old Railway Station. In 2002 it was remodeled and since then presents its current appearance. This old square, known as square of Guayaquil, was one of the busiest places in the city, a space where there were different manifestations of the life of Medellin, because the square became the “site of everything” there you could buy, sell and trade what people needed, which caused all people regardless of class or social strata to frequent their spaces.
