Our four day / three night tour visits Jodhpur and Udaipur. Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan is popularly known as the Blue City. Forts, palaces, temples, havelis and even houses are in vivid shades of blue. The imposing fortress of Mehrangarh towers over this magnificent city. Udaipur is located around azure water lakes and is hemmed in by lush green hills. The city boasts of museums, palaces, gardens, and monuments. The famous Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola is a beautiful sight in Udaipur. The beautiful City Palace and Sajjangarh (Monsoon Palace) add to the architectural beauty and grandeur of the city.

Day 1 – Jaipur to Jodhpur

In the morning, you will be picked up in Jaipur and driven to Jodhpur (about 6 hours). Upon arrival check-in at your hotel. Evening at rest.

Day 2 : Jodhpur to Udaipur including Ranakpur

In the morning, visit the invincible Mehrangarh Fort, a former palace that stands on a perpendicular cliff overlooking the walled city of Jodhpur. Mehrangarh Fort is one of the best preserved forts in India. Rudyard Kipling described it as “the Work of Giants”. You will also visit the Jaswant Thada, an immaculate white marble mausoleum overlooking a small lake in the heart of the city. In the afternoon, drive to Udaipur stopping en route in Ranakpur to visit the sculpted Jain temples. These temples are acclaimed worldwide for their intricate and superb architectural style. Built in the 15th century, the Ranakpur temples are known for being the largest and most important temples of the Jain faith. Upon arrival in Udaipur, check into your hotel.

Day 3 : Udaipur Half Day City Tour

After breakfast, you will visit the City Palace which towers over Lake Pichola. The balconies, cupolas, and towers of the palace give a wonderful view of the lake and the surrounding city. This complex consists of four major and several minor palaces, courtyards and gardens. The main part of the palace is now preserved as a museum displaying artifacts. You will also visit the Saheliyon ki Bari, or Garden of Maids. The garden has a small museum and several attractions such as marble elephants, fountains, kiosks and a lotus pool. The folklore museum is dedicated to the study of folk art, culture, songs and festivals of Rajasthan. You will also have the opportunity to view a presentation of string puppets typical to this area. Your afternoon is at leisure to explore more of this fascinating city. In the Evening, you will enjoy a Boat ride on Lake Pichola.

Day 4: Udaipur to Jaipur

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Jaipur in a private air conditioned vehicle. (B)
