Ubud Evening Tour with Legong Ramayana Show

Entrance to one of the following cultural performances is included:

Legong Dance - a selection of 5 or 6 short dances, usually including the dramatic Baris warrior dance (Ubud & Peliatan dance troupes are particularly renowned for these dance). Every Monday at Ubud Palace, 19.30hrs, Every Saturday at Pura Dalem Puri, 19.30 hrs.

Ramayana ballet - a classical dance re-enacting part of the Indian Ramayana epic. Every Tuesday at Ubud Palace, 20.00 hrs.

Wayang Kulit - Shadow Puppet Show at Oka Kartini's. The Dalang puppeteer usually portrays the Indian epics over 8 to 10 hours, but this hour-long performance shows you the highlights. Every Sunday and Wednesday (20.00 hrs)

When the regent of Ubud – Cokorda Gede Agung – founded painters co-operative, a dance troupe and a gamelan orchestra in the 1930s, his intention was to ensure the preservation and development of Balinese arts. Gradually, Ubud and neighboring Peliatan village became a mecca for painters, dancers, musicians, and writers alike. Even today, the gentle pace of life, the village atmosphere, the wholesome cooking of the eating houses, the wealth of Balinese culture and the quality crafts all prove irresistible to the discerning visitor.
