Day trip to explore the Atlas mountains

The wonders of the Atlas Mountains is a new way of discovery the real life style of the locals and experience some hiking, camel ride and mule ride higher in the mountains.

It is a alternative way of going outside Marrakech and get in touch with the beautiful Atlas mountains with its splendid snowy peaks.

Sharing a cup of mint tea with a local family will stay as one of the highlights of the day. In addition to this, our lunch meal will be cooked in local way and its flavor will always stay in your mind.

9h00

After breakfast, Meet up in front desk of Hotel Ali near the main square of Jamaa Elfna and drive towards the picturesque Atlas Mountains. We will first go to see the wonderful Dom of Lala Takerkouste before we head up to Kik plateau.

We will be warmly welcomed by a local family for a cup of mint tea in a nice roof terrace offering a wonderful view on the Dom.

 We are in Asni village where we will experience an hour camel ride with great views on snowy mountains.

We are in Imlil village on the foothill of mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Here we will start a gentle walk through Berber villages that have been existing here more than 900 years.

We will have our lunch meal in a nice roof terrace in a berber family house. Most families in the mountains they live for local vegetables and cereals, as well as saving some dry fruits for the wintertime. Most of locals still are farmers and own many goats and cheap.

It is now the mule ride activity to end the walking circle around Berber villages. The mule ride will take about an hour exploring the rest of the valley.

Here we meet our driver and retrace back to Marrakech
