Beautiful historic town Varazdin is situated in the Northern Croatian valley surrounded with the hills of Zagorje and the Drava river and its forests, only an hour drive from Zagreb, near the border with Hungary and Slovenia.

Its history goes back to medieval times when it thrived as a merchant center. During the 18th century it was the capital of Croatia, and a popular center for nobility and aristocracy to exhibit luxury through their palaces and the popular architectural styles of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It is a town of gorgeous Central European architectural styles, reminiscent of charming Austrian towns. On this tour we will thoroughly explore the city center in order to truly feel and understand Varazdin, its history, but also its present.
