Wahiba Sands to Indian Ocean Crossing (3days/2nights)

Oman is one of the rare places on earth where the vast desert dunes descend straight into the crystal waters of the Indian Ocean.

The towering dunes roll one after the other, with a sprawling expanse that is not replicated in our modern lives. Camping under the stars in the desert is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Our air conditioned 4X4’s will collect and you return from any location within Muscat. Our Omani guides speak fluent English, and our trips include full catering, drinks and snacks along the way.

Itinerary

Day 1: Bidiya - Wahiba Sands

Stop At: Bidiyah, Bidiyah, Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
Depart from Muscat and drive directly to Bidiya, on the edge of the vast Empty Quarter. Here we will camp for the night, and prepare and enjoy a BBQ dinner together.
Duration: 6 hours

Day 2: Wahiba Desert Crossing

Stop At: Wahiba Sands, Jalan Bani Buhassan Oman
After breakfast in the dunes we will traverse the desert, climbing the dunes to their highest point, then turning due east in the direction of the Indian Ocean. We will arrive at the end of the day at the edge of the Ocean, where we will camp for the evening and enjoy a traditional Omani dinner together.

Day 3: Indian Ocean

Stop At: Wahiba Sands, Jalan Bani Buhassan Oman
After breakfast next to the ocean, we will take the coastal scenic route north, in the direction of Muscat. After some time we will cut back inland and take the most direct route back to Muscat city.
