Private Walking Tour to Lagoa do Fogo

This trail begins on a dirt road that will take you to a forest full of Eucalyptus, Australian Cheesewood, Acacias and Yellow Ginger Lilies, you can also find several species of Typha a plant original from New Zealand.
Here, you’ll be able to discover the Lagoa do Fogo water trails –levadas – and also some endemic plants as Uva da Serra (Vaccinium cylindraceum), Urze (Erica azorica Hochst), Folhado (Viburnum tinus) and Linguee. On your way to the top, you’ll find some place where you can have fantastic views over the south coast of São Miguel Island as well the islet of Vila Franca do Campo. Finally, walking through the water trails – levadas - you’ll meet the Lake Lagoa do Fogo.

Departing from Ponta Delgada you'll first head to some stunning coastal sights. We´ll start our trail on a dirt road that will take you to a forest full of Eucalyptus, Australian Chessewood, Acacias, and Yellow Ginger lilies. where you’ll be able to discover the Lagoa do Fogo water trails, Finally you'll meet the greatest lake on the island - Lagoa do Fogo.
On the way back the trail you'll have as background fantastic views over the south coast of São Miguel Island as well the islet of Vila Franca do Campo very know for the Red Bull Cliff Diving championship. 
You´ll finish your tour with a hot and relaxing bath in the thermal waters of Caldeira Velha.
