Wilderness Tour

The Wilderness tour is just over 3 hours long, we start by picking you up from your accommodation and then driving you north to start the tour, depending on the difficulty of the tour you would like your guide will take you to one of 3 locations. Each location has something special about it, whether it be whitewater rivers covered in spectacular ice or breathtaking views.

You will have your own private guide and the group will never exceed 8 people. During the tour, you will learn from the fauna and flora, how to make fire from what you find in the forest, even if it is -40, and you will have to experience it yourself.

Each tour includes snacks and hot drinks that you will prepare over an open fire.

This is where we meet, for those of you who do not need pick-up. In our Safari Office, you will have the opportunity to dress with some winter overalls and winter boots if you need to.

Experience the Wild Taiga forest and what the Lapland wilderness has best to offer. On this tour, you will feel the peace of the arctic nature, hike through the snowy forests, keep an eye for local wildlife and learn about our surroundings.

The tour begins with your personal guide picking you up from your accommodation and dressing you with overalls and winter boots if conditions require so. You then drive 30 Kilometres north, into the Arctic nature.

Once you arrive at the start, you will be given a brief on what to look out for. The Wilderness Tour has different levels of difficulty depending on your ability, your guide will discuss this with you upon pick up and between you, the best route will be decided.

The Wilderness Tour is a very special opportunity to those who wish to wander into the forest to try and get a glimpse of the spectacular and elusive Finnish wildlife and natural beauty of Lapland. Before heading through the woods you will be taught how to move quietly in the wilderness.
In the winter time, you will enjoy views of huge snow drifts, white trails and frozen trees. You will learn about the footprints you find around you in the snow. It’s a shame the Bears will be sleeping as they have a very impressive paw print! But not to worry as we still have the chance of passing tracks made by Wolves, Lynx, Wolverines, Moose, Reindeer, Weasles, Arctic hare and many more.

During the summer your guide will teach you about the nature that surrounds you. The aim of this tour is to show you wild and beautiful forests that look as if they are straight out of a fairytale. We will help you to learn the best secrets of how to appreciate these places.

During every tour, your guide will show you how to build and light a fire without the use of matches. You will learn what to look for in the forests that allow you to make fire easily at any time without damaging any vegetation.
