Wildlife Safari in the Garden Route

We invite you to Explore the Big 5 in the Garden Route and the Klein Karoo. Join our Chauffer Drive tour and enjoy two bush safaris with experienced rangers in an open 4x4 vehicle. Expect to see Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Kudu, Hippo and much more.  Visit the celebrated Cango Caves and an Ostrich Ranch. Stay in Oudtshoorn and Knysna and visit the Waterfront art & craft markets. Experience Plettenberg Bay and Natures Valley, beaches and forests. Visit Monkeyland,Birds of Eden or a wildlife sanctuary.

Itinerary

Day 1: Knysna - South Africa's Favorite Town - is situated in the heart of the Garden Route

Stop At: Wilderness Beach, Wilderness 6560 South Africa
We stop for an optional Craft Beer/Gin or Juice tasting.

Stop At: Knysna Heads, Coney Glen Road, Knysna 6571 South Africa
Visit the Knysna Quays. This region has a tremendous range of arts and crafts, in all mediums. Visit the Knysna Heads where the mighty Indian Ocean rushes in and out of the Knysna Lagoon.

Stop At: Knysna Lagoon, The coast of the city, Knysna 6571 South Africa
Wind up the day with an optional Lagoon Sunset Cruise. There are a number of options including luxury Yachts and Ferries.

Stop At: Knysna Yacht Club, Knysna, 6570, South Africa
This evening guests are invited to the Knysna Yacht Club for sundowners and a barbeque (Braai)

Day 2: Explore Plettenberg Bay and the Tsitsikamma Region

Stop At: Plettenberg Beach, Plettenberg Bay South Africa
We will do some whale and dolphin spotting. In the winter months there will be plenty of whales to view close to the shore.

Stop At: Natures Valley Beach, Lagoon Drive, Nature's Valley South Africa
We visit the tiny settlement of Nature's Valley, one of the loveliest havens of tranquillity along the Garden Route. Our exploration of this ancient forest leads through the tangle of trees, ferns and creepers and the the undisputed monarch of the forest - gigantic Outeniqua Yellowoods.

Stop At: Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, Monkeyland Road Animal Alley, The Crags, Plettenberg Bay 6600 South Africa
Guests may take a tour of Monkeyland or the Birds Of Eden or the Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day 3: Wildlife Safari and Ostriches.

Stop At: Botlierskop Private Game Reserve, Gonnakraal Road, Little Brak River, 6503, South Africa
Visit the Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Home to Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. You will enjoy a safari on a 4X4 open vehicle with an experienced ranger.

Stop At: Highgate Ostrich Show Farm, Scenic Cape Route 62 Volmoed, Oudtshoorn 6620 South Africa
We travel over the Robinson Pass to Oudtshoorn, principal centre of the Klein Karoo and undisputed "ostrich capital" of the world. Our itinerary includes a visit to a fascinating Ostrich Show Farm where, amidst enormous flocks of these strange birds, we are shown their development from the one kg egg to the 100 kg adult.

Day 4: Wildlife Safari and the magical Cango Caves

Stop At: Buffelsdrift Game Lodge - Activities, Cango Caves Road, Oudtshoorn 6620 South Africa
The day begins with an early morning game drive. Look out for a wide range of animals include Hippo, Elephant, Lion, Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Buffalo, Rhino, Springbok and much more.

Stop At: The Cango Caves, 328 Approximately 30km (19 miles) from town on the R, Oudtshoorn 6625 South Africa
Visit one of the great wonders of Africa - the subterranean wonderland of Cango Caves for a tour of this vast sequence of caverns, each filled with astonishing formations of glittering stalagmites and stalactites.

Stop At: George Airport, George, 6530, South Africa
We drop off our guests in the early afternoon at George Airport for your onward flight or coach/car transport to Cape Town or Port Elizabeth.
