Wine tour takes place at a typical Imeretian village, about 30 -40 minutes drive from Kutaisi. On our way we pass green valleys, amazing vineyards and stop at a private winery. Travelers could test different wines produced according to Georgian traditional technology of winemaking in qvevri. Qvevri is clay vessel buried in the ground, providing best conditions for fermenting a juice. Qvevris could be as small as 50 l. or as large as 1,500 litres in volume. Vessel provides stable temperature conditions for fermenting purposes and preserves its flavor and aromas all year around. Our host will introduce step by step the process of making wine and equipment used to get this amazing drink. Tour duration is flexible and could be planned according to your schedule.
