YALA (යාල) & YALA Block5 NationalPark is the most visited and #secondlargest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean.
Including Sri Lankan #elephant, 44 species of mammals are resident in Yala National Park,and it has one of the highest #leopard densities in the world .so many individual #leopards are estimated to roam in Block I.The #elephant herd of Yala contains 100–150 individuals.The Sri Lankan #slothbear, #leopard, #elephant, and #wildwaterbuffalo are all threatened mammals that Yala harbours. Although #waterbuffaloes are indigenous to Sri Lanka, most populations contain genes of the domestic stock or have descended from feral populations. The elephant population of the park varies seasonally.
Early morning first 2 hours and the day end last 2 hours is the golden hours for the leopard spotting.
