The tour starts at 10am from central Yerevan. You will be driven to the South-Eastern part of Yerevan where the first stop is at the fortress of Erebuni on ArinBerd hill. It was built in 782 B.C. by the Urartian King Argishti the first and the well preserved ruins of the citadel include some magnificent frescoes. Pay a visit to the fortress museum.
Continue to the Megerian carpet factory museum, where you'll discover the ancient art of Armenian carpet making and learn more about the Megerian Family, who have been involved in the selling, restoration, and production of fine oriental rugs for over four generations.
Next, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. Inspired by the vision of its founder, Gerard L. Cafesjian, the Center offers a wide variety of exhibitions, including a selection of important work from the Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection of contemporary art. Having celebrated its grand opening in November 2009, CCA continues to exhibit unique works of modern and contemporary art and offers a diverse program of lectures, films, concerts, and numerous educational initiatives for adults and children. Over one million people have visited the Center annually since its opening.
