Do the Top 10 Bungee Jumps in the World

Go to Dream Page
Bungee Jumping is the act of leaping from a tall structure, such as a building or bridge, or even a helicopter or hot-air balloon while tethered to an elastic cord. There are competing opinions as to the origin of Bungee Jumping as a sport and even the proper spelling of the term, since some aficionados use the word “Bungy”. Claims are that the first Bungee jumps were made from the Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol, England by members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club in 1979. However, New Zealanders claim that the first commercial “Bungy” Jumps were made from Auckland’s Greenhithe Bridge in 1986. How you choose to spell the thrill of jumping from a high place with only an elastic cord separating you from whatever awaits you below doesn’t take anything away from the experience. Equipment used to make the jumps varies by local practice with some jumps providingmore free-fall, higher Gs, a rock and roll type ride or longer hang time on rebounds while others offer a lower velocity, smoother ride and higher rebounds that can be more conducive to making ankle jumps. The primary difference is in the makeup of the cords. Although opinions vary as does the criteria, we have identified the 10 most popular spots for jumping spread throughout the world: Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge, Canon City, Colorado, USA Verzasca Dam, Val Verzasca, Switzerland Bloukrans Bridge, Western Cape, South Africa Macau Tower, Macau, People’s Republic of China Nevis Highwire Bungy, Queenstown, New Zealand Bhote Kosi River Bungee Bridge, Himalayas, Nepal Victoria Falls Bridge, Zimbabwe & Zambia, Africa Volcano Bungee, Pucon, Chile Corinth Canal Bridge, Peloponnese, Greece Ponte Colossus Bridge, Veglio, Italy Perhaps you have dreamed of experiencing the adrenalin rush provided by the top 10 Bungy Jumps in the world while visiting these fascinating countries taking in all they have to offer.
