I loved Palermo. I had heard that it would not be as nice as some of the other towns in Sicily, but I disagree. The old town part was beautiful and historical and had lots to do and see.

I liked the city more then I expected. Old town area had a lot to see.

Wonderful place for sightseeing (many churches, gardens, charming fountains etc.), not far from Palermo - Mondello beach, delicious food, nice people. The only big minus is a terrible mess - literally (on the streets) and on the timetables, if you want to use public transport...

The whole city is fun. Even in the summer! Unless you’re out hiking in the canyons, you’re in your car or in a building with AC. So complaining won’t cool you down. Visit and enjoy!
