Being there in May, we didn't encounter many tourists, surprisingly. Mostly locals strolling with children. Very pretty place although looks a bit abandoned which adds to some charm.
I took the sunrise tour to Borobodur Temple. It was a very early start, 04:15, and cycling to the temple.
It was well worth it, as although the sunrise isn't the best I've ever seen, just the setting and Temple itself were very idyllic and relaxing.
I was fortunate enough to go on a Monday and it wasn't very busy and didn't really see anyone when I was walking the levels.
As the sun rose, there were Buddhist monks chanting which really added to the feeling of relaxation at the Temple.
Amazing site. On your awe inspiring visit, to climb the temple be ready for many very tall/steep steps.
Great place to see, hard to capture the grandeur in photos!
take a sunrise tour to see the stunning view of bromo in the early morning. though it's a bit pricey, it's comparable with the experience that you'll get. the place is well organized. there's also a free museum inside the complex for visitors
Boston is a great walking city. I love strolling down the tree-lined streets, wondering what is inside each brownstone. You can also explore many U.S. historical sites and not be bored! Oh and the seafood! Soooo tasty.
If you plan to do the Black Heritage Trail without a tour (only option in winter), stop at a visitor center first for a map with pictures so you know exactly which buildings to look for!
