Smith's Reef is located off Turtle Cove on Providenciales Island in the Turks and Caicos. It's part of Princess Alexandra National Park. It's a quite a swim (100-200 yards) from shore to the reef. The water reached a depth of around 40 feet.
Smith Water Canyon is reached from Lower Covington Trail. There is no trail through the canyon, but the wash is easy to follow with some rock hopping in a few places. It is a very scenic area with the water polished granite of different colors and patterns among the desert life.
