Take Highway 33 north of Ojai to the trailhead at mile marker 32.10. The trail is on the right hand side of the highway. This trail provides a beautiful day hike following a stream channel into the Sespe Wilderness. It has running water most of the year. The trail ends at Potrero John Camp, but it can be fun to explore the drainage beyond the camp.
Pottery Canyon Park in La Jolla, California is an easy hiking area for anyone with small children. There use to be an old pottery factory on the site but not much remaining now.

On a nice clear day take a detour at the Pouakai Track junction – turn left towards Pouakai Trig (1440 m) with stunning views of Egmont National Park and the coastline. This track is a little rugged in places – be prepared for some mud and track erosion.
Start at the Caprock Coulee Trailhead and follow the Buckhorn Trail to a prairie dog town. Be sure to plan some extra time for wildlife viewing; where there are prairie dogs, there are often lots of other animals, too!
Begin this loop trail at the Visitor Center or at the picnic area just north of the visitor center. Waysides provide information along the way. Leashed pets are allowed on this trail.
