The viewpoint at Inspiration Point consists of three levels that provide varied spectacular perspectives of the main amphitheater. From here, visitors look toward the Silent City (near Sunset Point) with its many rows of seemingly frozen hoodoos set against the backdrop of Boat Mesa. All who look out from this point are bound to be inspired, considering the intricacie...
Turn right on a two-way road that takes you to this viewpoint. Enjoy the wheelchair-accessible view along the edge of the parking lot. The original Inspiration Point overlook tumbled into the Canyon during an earthquake in the 1970s. Recently, because of unsafe conditions, the walkway has been shortened once more. The views of the canyon, however, remain spectacular, ...
Iron Blow was the site of the earliest major mining venture at Mount Lyell on the west coast of Tasmania, Australia in 1883.
Geoffrey Blainey describes the appearance prior to its being mined:
They (Those mentioned above) examined the strange formation. It jutted twenty or thirty feet above the surface and was split by deep cracks and crevices as if a great explosion ...
Jackson Glacier Overlook is along the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park, Montana. Jackson Glacier is one of the park's 25 remaining glaciers, seen from Jackson Glacier Overlook, a pullout on the east side of the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
It is also the eastern trailhead for the Gunsight Pass Trail.
Jardim do Torel is a garden located at Rua Julio de Andrade in Lisbon.
The Torel garden is located next to Campo dos Mártires da Pátria , on the hillside facing Avenida da Liberdade , in the so-called Torel site, a space occupied by a set of mansions built in the 19th century revivalist style.
It has three entrances, the main one on Rua de Júlio d...
Javelina Rocks Overlook is located along Cactus Forest Drive. A small paved parking area provides access to the rocks and a couple of short trails to some great views of the Tuscon basin. These trails are single-track with cacti on both sides. There is also a rock scramble route to the top of the rocks that I did not attempt.
Take in the beauty of the stunning Joffre Gorge with fantastic views of the falls and the surrounding landscape.
On the western side of the park is Joffre Gorge, a spectacular curved waterfall forming a natural amphitheatre. Especially impressive after rain, water cascades down the step-like cliff face to a dark pool and then, as the gorge narrows, ...
In order to reach the viewpoint you have to hike for 15-20 minutes in mediocre path. There are some rocks to climb but mostly there'll be ropes for extra support. You'll have to fight the sun and humidity too but once you're at the top you'll forget it all. The view is the best on the island!
Kachina Bridge has the widest girth in the park at a whopping 44-foot width. From the viewpoint, you get a bird's eye view of this massive sandstone structure and the canyons below. Along the way, check out some of the park's plants and geological features.
There is a pit toilet located at the Kachina Bridge parking area. There are flush toilets outside the visitor c...
