The 2 mile roundtrip Ram Head Trail starts at Salt Pond Bay Beach on St John and offers hikes rugged beauty and great pictures. The trail starts at the eastern end of the beach. Go right to Ram Head (left goes to Drunk Bay).
The hike is fairly strenuous so bring some water. The view back toward Salt Pond makes it well worth the effort.
Rampart Ridge Trail (4.6 mi/7.4 km) is a steep loop trail offers excellent views of Mount Rainier and Nisqually Valley. The trail passes through forests and offers top vistas.
