Great historic site to visit if you’re in Buffalo. The tour was excellent and you really learn about the vision that Theodore Roosevelt had to help propel our great country into the 20th century.
Sadly many of the trails and areas around the memorial are in need of maintenance including the fountains. The layout is beautiful and the memorial is a peaceful place to sit, but some work needs to be done.
Our favorite family cave. Pretty short hike not too intense my kids can make it ok. So fun to go through the cave though and see how beautiful and incredible this earth is! Our favorite tour, totally worth it.
It's best to get your tickets for the tour online. That way you can be sure what time you are getting and plan accordingly. If you are concerned about the hike, get there a little early and take your time.
Timucuan is a nice quiet area for some short easy hikes. Lot's of sandy trails take you away from civilization and back into the time when the natives of America like the Timucuans lived and roamed along the St. Johns and up on the bluffs.
This park is an interesting one. Seeing as its the newest addition to the NPS, there are absolutely zero services or information when you arrive. You'll likely think you're in the wrong place, but the open space is free range to explore. Definitely go during daylight. Didn't spot any fossils, but I'm sure they're out there somewhere!
This park needs better maintenance. We were so looking forward to stopping by Tupelo, but... The informational placards shown in the picture were missing, and there is no information regarding the visitor center at the site itself. As the visitor center is a mile down the road, we completely missed it until we were doing more research on the area. The cannons, sidewalks, and main monument are nicely maintained.
