The visitor center was closed when we visited (COVID19). The visitor center is designed to show respect to the residents from Japan and demonstrate the building materials of wood frame and tar paper used during this time. The fence is still in place and a representative guard station mark the entrance. There is a lot of history and emotion at this site. The park has worked hard to preserve what they could. It is a good investment in time to learn and to experience this chapter of our history.
The ranger in the science museum was really nice and gave us directions and the code to get a second cancellation at another location in addition to the main site.
